Help: tech needle jumping in to red zone

I have a '93 Accord EX w/ auto transmission, stock engine. While driving between 25 - 40 mph, the tech needle would sometimes jump into the red zone. The engine does not sound like it's revving that high.

What do you think is wrong?

You Might have a short in your Tach.

Mine use to do that but wouldn't jump the redline. It would just jump back and forth between 2k and 4k but the engine was idleing fine.
