    gap between lights

well. my car was in an accident a couple years ago and i put new fenders on it. but once i put everything together i noticed a 1/2 inch gap between the bottom of the headlights and the top of the bumper. same thing witht he bottom of the grill. i think the 2 bars that are vertical that go seside the radiator may be bent back a bit. i also had to shim the hood latch for it to line up with the hook on the hood.
what would be a good way to bend it all back. what else could cause this>????

its sorta hard to explain but ill try my best open the hood and on top of the headlight there is this screw that takes a phillips head and just adjust it to eliminate the headlight gap

the gap is under the headlights. the bottom of the lights and the top of the bumper.

my bumper is the same way. it has a gap in between the lights and the bumper. but my car was in an accident before i bought it. i can tell becuase i saw some things bent and messed up concerning the bumper when i took it off to blackhouse my headlights. idk if all our cars are this way, or if they get that way after an accident. and i had to raise my hoodlatch too.
I........love my car. Simple as that.

Aftermarket body parts do not line up like oem, maybe that has something to do with it Just thought I would point that out.

Why would they want to do that? Yes it would probably clear up a little gap, but it would also result in poor headlight aim...

i just rebuilt the front end of mine this summer did you replace the bumper support if not thats the problem but if you did my bet would be that the other 2 bolts on each side of the bumper support the brackets are prolly bent basically take off the bumper and the support if the bolts are bent or the fiberglass broken replace that if not try bendingthe brackets forward it should sure it up a lil bit but my bet is the bumper support
the black thing that is actually the bumper 3 bolts 2 are behind the headlights on the frame rails one on each side the other 2 on each side are in the front under it

this was a pain in the ass for me as well although my acident was prolly a lil worse than yours

              the build and demise

How is that going to work when all that is adjusted are the Reflectors. The Headlight Body is hard bolted to the frame work.

Refer to Haynes WSM Chapter 11 Page 7 No 13 Bumpers - Removal & Installation.

something is still bent or needs adjustment. it will probably just take some trial and error. later.

what? that screw hes talking about moves the lights themselves. i havn't moved mine up and down, but i have adjusted them in and out to get better lighting on the road. u can see the lights move when u turn the screw.

and if i remember right, the light housing is attached to some plastic framework, and the framework is bolted to the frame. that screw adjusts how the housing sits in the framework.

but yea, don't do that, your lights will be pointing 5 feet in front of u instead of on the road ahead.
