93 Accord Lx Engine Noise Help?????

I have A 93 Accord lx 5 spd, and when I accelerate at a certain point on the throttle I hear a Loud Cricket like sound or you could say a screeching sound. Its olny when I am in gear and hitting that certain spot on the gas pedel while acclerateing!!!!! What could be causeing it???

It's possible that one or the other of your drive belts is getting worn a little and needs to be readjusted. It's common for new belts to do this.

high pitched type noise? kinda like metal on metal?

do you have an aftermarket intake?.. if so, thats probably what it is.. mine did that too at certain rpms.. i have no idea what exactly causes it, but i had people askin me all the time what it was.. i just got used to it and called it my supercharger whine..

I had that sound there before i had anything done to my car, it was bone stock and made the sound. Also I have to replace my belts so if thats whats causing it i will let you know if its not the belts it could be my alternator or distributor.

I have the same sound, for me it kinda sounds like a whistle/crickets.. doesnt matter the rpm, only matters on the throttle position. I think it may have something to do with the throttle plate, because it's coming from inside the intake, and resonating out my short-ram pipe.. Pop the hood and move the throttle rotor with your hand (obviously have the car running), you should be able to hear the noise very loud, and coming from your intake. At least that's what mine does, it seems like several other people have this annoying noise, and no one has really come up with a solution. It's driving me nuts.

changing the belts doesn't work, I had that noise before and after i changed every belt on my car. I even had the noise before i put on my cai, i think it's a honda thing.

Yeah, I had the noise with my stock airbox on, but when I added my intake, it made it soo much louder. I drove my buddies car thats identical to mine (same km's, year, colour, trim) and his didnt make any sound at all.. made me angry!!
