    Performance chips

Hey I was just wondering about those performance chips I was hearing about. I bought one of ebay called zoom or something weird well no biggy it was 5 bucks. But I was wondering about them.

They are pieces of crap that either do nothing or do bad things to your car. This has been covered before and this isn't even the right section to post in anyway.

i'm gonna start counting how many times this topic has been bought up...there is no cheap and easy way to performance, if it seems to be to be true...THEN IT IS

Even if the performance chip was of better quality. It comes down to what they designed for and with what specific modifications on your specific vehicle. The whole purpose of tuning your engine is to dial it in for performance or whatever you seek and this setup is custom to your specific setup.

Does everyone have the exact same setup? No. So there lies your answer.

The ecu reads resistance from the sensor to determine how much fuel to mix. Those chips always set you at a set resisance, which will most likely make you run lean.

most of the ads i've seen for those things on ebay and such are stating different. They try to appeal to the ppl that don't know much about engines and how to make power by stating this product tells your ecu that colder air is coming into the engine and we all know that colder air equals more poooooower! Or some even say things like "we all know more fuel equals more power!" To the thread starter...the reason that chip is shit is because it tricks your ecu into running rich...rich isn't gonna make power...its not adding more fuel that makes power its increasing airflow, air quality, decreasing air temp, etc. and combining the airflow with the correct amount of fuel...no just dumping fuel blindly.

read and learn then. Once again that chip is just a resistor and limits the voltage supplied to tell the ecu the correct amount of fuel to add or take away.
