And I love diagrams, thanks. What's the PCM? (holy noob question)

    PCM = Powertrain Control Module.
PCM's actually incorporate the Engine Control Unit with the Transmission Control Unit as one unit instead of having two separate units like the CB7.
I'd say he meant the ECU when he mentioned the PCM

Guessing at air? yes. yes I am.

Butt connectors could be a problem. I should go and remove each and solder in there place right?

          i always do...
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

            butt connectors are great!
...but not for your fuel pump!!

To properly connect 2 wires, especially anything external...
option 1... Solder the wires together using an appropriate union, and heatshrink over the solder.

option 2... be lazy, and use the butt connectors that have heat shrink over them, and have solder inside them. It's a one stop shop for solder/heatshrink, they work good, but at almost $1 per connector they're only for lazy people.

Really though, because it's intermittent like that, it doesn't sound like something caused by that kind of wiring, but ya never know. get the good ol test light out, and back pin some connectors, find out whats going on.

someone else that knows will have to comment on this one, but it's an option. if you're relay isn't powering the fuel pump, on most cars, you have a backup. On *most* cars (not sure if it applies to CB7, can't tell definitively from diagram), in addition to a main or FP relay to control current to the fuel pump, there is also an Oil pressure switch (OPS). This OPS basically engages when there is oil pressure(so when the engine is running), and diverts power to the fuel pump. This is put there to supplement the main relay in case of failure.

Other thing to remember is this wiring diagram isn't 100% accurate because you're using a hacked wiring harness with different engine.

If your relay was bad, and you do have an OPS, then what would happen is, your fuel pump would not prime when you turn the key on, but it would start after cranking for a little while(don't believe me, pull the Fuel pump relay on any newer GM for instance).
But, as I stated, this is hypothetical, i'm not sure if your setup is using an OPS or not.

looking at the diagram cut the ground off the fuel pump run it to the neg batt termal or find a good ground.. if it dosent work then its not the ground... or you can just test...

Hopefully I'll get to it this weekend, if it isn't too cold, otherwise, it'll wait a while. But I must get this fixed.

I'd like to thank everyoone for the info posted up so far, I'll let you know when/if I fix it. Course if anythign else pops into your head about this post it up.

                  grounds

Hey man check the ground wire thats under the t stat on the throttle body if it's loose it will stop the fuel pump from priming.

                      Could this be a problem?

                      1. is a cut ground wire.

                      2. a wire that matches the cut wire, spliced into another wire that I believe goes into the ecu

i would put it back the same way it was before and simply put another ground wire on thet sensor ...

In Need of an engine, just a basic f22a...pm me if you have one willing to part with.

Here's the problem. I didn't do the swap, so I'm not really sure what kind of ghettoness they did to it. (Well I have an idea, I'm just not sure of how extensive it is)

Anybody know if that ground should be hooked up right there?

the cap is that black thing on the right. The intake is just out of the picture to the bottom. The entire thing is on the left side of the engine back. EGR valve is at the top left.
