distributor bolt stuck

Well I was thinking of advancing the timing a bit, got the top and the one near the firewall out no problem. But can get the front bolt out. I even CRACKED my socket.....lol

So is it easier to remove it when the engine is hot or cold?

I did it in between....warm to the touch

Try spraying it with PB Blaster a few times and then use a breaker bar. If it keeps cracking your sockets, upgrade until your sockets are stronger than the bolt.

It will be easier with the engine hot rather than cold.

Got it out, the guy just took a closed wrench and pop, it turns. He said "It's the difference in tools!"

Yep after a while you will learn to use alternatives instead of the same ol tools. They either work better or mess you up more. But i would say invest in a decent socket and wrench set since those will come in real handy. If your sockets are cracking its time for an upgrade.
