well earlier i was havin trouble wit an h22, now its my turn to have problems, i have done the timing on my f22, prolly 3-4 times now. ive done it the haynes way, ive done it the way zoom, and wikked have done theres, i cant think of anyother problem with the timing. the car starts and car idles at 900 like its supposed to, but the dizzy is cocked a lil sideways, to the point that u cant bolt the dizzy back up. i dont understand, are the timing marks supposed to be that different from everything. how do u guys time the camshaft. ive heard the two marks line up with the top of the head. ive heard the "up" arrow should jus be straight up and not worry bout the timing marks. the balancer gear nearest the fire wall, some say that mark is supposed to be up, down, or back. so i dunno and i need help, this timing shit is pissing me off.

Got a manual to check it out? Isnt timing suppose to be set 15 degrees BTDC or somethin like that? What happens if you move the dizzy the other way?

if u move the dizzy one way it fluctuates 1k-2k up and down, if u move it the other way it sits perfect at 800ish and u can rev and it runs through the rpm's smoothly. so i dunno what the deal is, i mean the motor runs, and runs smooth, except for the exhaust leak there isnt any problems. so i have no clue...we timed it the haynes way, and it did the same thing. we were a lil closer on teh last time. to the point where u can almost bolt it but teh car shuts off...so yeh we still stumped...

Try connecting the prongs in the passenger's side kick panel plug. It's the blue connecter thing that you connect the prongs in to check the trouble codes. I understand you're supposed to connect those prongs to keep the computer from fighting you while you time the motor. I'm not positive on that because I didn't have to bother with it when I did mine.
Good luck, though!
