Your car shouldnt catch fire but you should be looking to fix it soon.

i had oil dripping onto my downpipe for months. i never had a fire, but it was embarrasing when i came to a light and my car was smoking like crazy. i would try to get it fixed as soon as possible to be on the safe side

at first i was going to mention if he overtightened the oil pan bolts, but that's a lot of oil to be losing in that short amount of time. i would definitely check the rear main seal. the cam seal could be the culprit too I think.

i no the leak is right next to the tranny in the corner, like he had to take off a piece of tranny casing to see it better, so is this the main seal area

i kno the leak your talking about, i've found it today on my accord, i noticed deposit of oil on my fly wheel, either from that seal or from oil leaking from the pan, but by the looks of where the oil is coming from i figured its the main seal, also another oil leak to check for is a front balancer shaft seal at the front of the engine, it may be caused by a dislodged seal on the front balancer shaft. To check the seal, you’ll need to remove the crankshaft pulley, the lower cover, the timing balancer belt, and the front balancer shaft pulley. If you find oil leaking from the seal, replace it.
