    Disable Beep Door Sensor. (searched)

So with this new CB I got came some problems.

One thing is that that old owner dissconnected something so that whatever door you open the dome light does not come, and there is no beeping what so ever (even if I leave my lights on). So after killing my battery twice for leaving the lights on I though it would be a good idea to ask HOW THE HELL to enable it?

I have searched for the past 15 min. Anyone know where this thing is?

    Thanks,
    Adam

P.S. The Door "map" on the gauge cluster works perfect!

I might be wrong because mine was removed a long time ago....but I believe it is behind the dash behind the driver cubby pocket/coin tray thingy. I think it's a silver cased thingy with 2 wires going to it (one orange, one black). If you look underneath the dash straight up towards the cubby pocket you should see it. Maybe some of the guys who still have the beep warning can verify that or give more info. Like I said, I can't tell you for sure, but I think that's where it used to be. lol!

Also check to see if the switch that is on the door is there. Does the light come on when you open any of the doors?

the chimes are integrated into that covered area in the driver side fusebox, above hte fuses but below the relays. i tried going through each component thats mounted up behind the dash, unplugging them one by one... checked the manual, and its definately on the fusebox, but i forget their "special" retarded name for it. pat, i thought it was the same thing that you mentioned, so i tried that first with no luck.

the reason i messed around with it is because the pin inside the ign was stuck, making it so it beeped when the door was open no matter if the key was in or not. so i cut one of the wires on the ign cyl lol...

but you say the door "map" diagram works perfectly, so the thingey in the door jam is in fact sensing the open door. maybe the chime fuse? other than that, i have no idea...

I think I told in the original post that the light does not come on no matter what door you open.

if the indicator in the cluster signals which door is open, then the pin switch is fine. You have an issue with the fuse, the chime, or the wiring for the chime
