    a question.

I been thinking lately that I need a learner motor so I figured what better than a A6 motor to go along with my 92 EX. thing is I don't wanna pay out the butt for a tinker with motor. so I was thinking the local pick & pull, I believe they run about $90 which isn't bad for a engine. but my real question is suppose further down the road I decide to build up towards a all motor or turbo setup. would the junkyard motor be worth using or should I invest towards something better? I think the P&P motor would be okay since I'd be building it up anyways. so any input would be nice.

Well for more learning experience i'de go with the f22ax, but it all depends on what you want to do. The money that you would put into the f22 would be money for an h22. I know its a lot of money but I could say most people on here dont regret their swap with the h.

it would all depend on what the condition of the motor from the junkyard is in, i wouldn't trust it, you never know what the previous owner did to it, but for about 100 dollars i would be a great learning expirience

if you have the money i suggest you go for the h22 or something along that line

      good luck

believe me having a H would be cool. but idk, I like my A6. besides me and that motor have seen some times together.. I know it sounds kinda corny but I just like my engine. I've broken down engines before just never really spent much time with them.

ehh I think I'll just pay the $90 and buy the damn thing. besides if anything I'll learn by breaking it down whenever I'm bored.

You seem to be in about the same situation I am. Mine runs fine, but I wanted to get something cheap to learn on and tinker with (probably build nice and strong in the future.) Picked up an A4 for $70 and so far have only taken the valve cover and rocker assembly off. If you like the F22Ax for whatever reason I say go for it.

if hes sticking with the F series...lhe should look into the F20B which is ALMOST identical to a H22A but with less trq..

                F22B DOHC ( JDM )...same as a H23A

or snag out a F23 out of the 98-up Accord that has Vtec but that mostly for saving gas!

or the F22B SOHC VTEC out of the 94-97 Accords!!

you have alot of options...to go with....

                so choose wisely

Good luck on WHATEVER you choose!!

                F22AX ( A1/A4/A6 )
                F22B SOHC VTEC
                F22B DOHC ( JDM )
                F23A SOHC VTEC
                F20B DOHC

                or

                H22A
                H23A
92 LX. A6 with GUDE bullfrog Cam. M2S4 transmission..Gutted H23 intake mani. The rest you will just have to find out!
