    odd electrical/starting problem

so lately i'll get into my car sometimes and go to turn it on and the dash lights will like flicker and i'll hear a click or a few and the car wont start, usually i just pull the keys out and try again and after a few trys it's going. i figure at any moment it's not gonna start anymore..

i noticed today the second time i held the keys on and all of a sudden the starter kicked in after like 6 seconds. and car started up fine..

    but this seems really weird....

    anyone had this problem?

specifically, which lights flicker? and exactly when?

sounds like the problem is in the ignition switch.

uh like the dash indicator lights.... the problem seems to come and go

i've noticed my battery has been low after it happens too... so maybe my alternator has something to do with it, or the battery...

you mean like the CEL, oil, and brake lights, that normally light up when you turn the key? not all the lighting for the whole cluster.

check your battery terminals, clean if necessary, check your grounds, check the terminals at the starter and alternator. maybe get the alternator and battery tested. if all that is good, and it still happens, i would think it would be the ignition, or maybe the main relay.
