    Blinker Question??

i bought a sent of LED bulbs for my taillights and when i put them in they didnt work. So i put the regular bulbs back in and not they dont work at all. i hit the blinkers and the lights will come on in the dash, not blinking just stays on, but nothing outside. it also makes a buzzing noise when its on. i change the relay out and checked the fuse. still not working. Some assistance would be helpfull.

dual prong on dual prong. i made sure they were the correct bulb before even purchasing them. i put the stock ones back in and just need to fix the blinkers now.

i kinda had the same problem..dont know if it helps, but it may..i bought led bulbs for my tail lights and they didnt even fit, i had to jiggle and force them in and then one of the mf-ers didnt work so i had the "tail lamp" light on, so i just put the stock bulbs back in...as far as them no longer working..i have no clue..check your connectors/wiring..you may need a new socket..??

ok this is gonna be a semi long post, so get ready..ready set here we go...Whenever using LED replacement bulbs u have to realize they draw MUCH less current than stock bulbs. Therefore the blinkers will NOT work. U have to replace your regular 3 prong flasher with an electronic 3 prong flasher. You might be getting the buzzing sound because the regular flasher is not turning off. Also with the electronic flasher, there is no bimettalic strip, since it is a solid state device(no moving parts) there is no clicking when the turn signals are on. You can remedy your problem by adding a resistor inline with the bulb, basically by adding a resistor to the socket. If you notice your turn signals wont work if u just turn on the turn signals, BUT when u use the hazards, they work fine because with the hazards since all 4 bulbs are on at the same time, they put enuff of a load on the system to have them on without any problems. You will have the same problem with your brake lights, whereas the car will actually turn on the brake light on the dash because it isnt seeing the same amount of resistance from the led bulbs and thinks one of the bulbs is blown out and turns on the light. That problem can also be remedied by adding a resistor to it. About a 6ohm 5 watt resistor will work fine. I kno im prolly missing some stuff and jumped around a bit, but if your are cofused just pm me or e-mail me and i can explain in more detail. Its just 1:20 am right now and im a bit tired so please no flaming . Like i said if you have any questions just let me know and i can help you out. That buzzing sounds like the flasher relay. There is not enough resistance from the LED replacements to actuate the "old-school" relays.....they rely on old filament style bulbs to function properly. You could:

                      1) Replace the flasher with an LED compatible module
                      2) Bridge a flasher/resistor accross the leads to the left and right blinkers. (These are about 8-10 ohms, with a high wattage rating and a heat sink.....)

i'd say try changing out the flasher..if that doesn't work then if you have access to a multimeter, take out ur bulbs in the back and see if you are getting power to the sockets...it's a long shot but might be worth it..let ur kno what happens
