I just replaced mine a couple of days ago. IF you don't mind a few scraches on the shiny silver nut all you have to do is get some lock channel pliars and unscrew it counter clock wise. The one I took off was off a 92EX and it came off perty easy, but if there is rust on it I would take some WD-40 and soak it down. To make it easier to unscrew the shinny nut I would loosen the little nut on the inside that holds it in place, unplug the black antena wire and the conector that supplys power. Once you start to unscrew the shinny nut, grab the whole motor assembly and push it up. From there you should be able to un-twist it by hand! Before you take it home make sure the guys at the yard test it!... to make sure it works. Once you have it installed in your car test it. If it doesn't work and you have a after market deck it might be that the power supply behind the deck is not connected. If you have any more question just ask!

well if it doesn not work can it stillbe pushe down to a nipple, the one i have now, when its pushed all the way down, its lowest point is 8 inches its ugly.i dont really care if it works,i will get the best looking one,but aslong as i can push it all the way down so it does not look like a remote control car.i listen to cd's anyway but if it works, all the better.for some reason when i tried twisting the other one off at the junkyard it wouldnt budge.should i leave the motor screws in until i loosen the mast?thanks,

I had a bitch of a time trying to take off the old one on my car. I litteraly ripped the whole top shinny thing off. The only way I could get the old mast off was by cutting the rubber gromet thing that sits on the car untill it fit through the hole! Like I said, I would take some WD-40 and soak it down then let it set for a little bit and then try again (Remenber to turn counter-clock wise) and if you can't get it off and your not interested in looks... then just go to another CB7 and try there!

We had another thread on this subject a while back, and if I remember correct, 92jr said that you can pick up a tool thats made to unscrew the top chrome screw. So you might wanna try a auto parts store to make things alot easier. Also if you want more info, try a search and read up on that other thread, I beleive a few people gave different ways of removing the mast, so its worth looking at.
But on another note, since you want the best looks, and dont care if it works, SHAVE IT man! I did, then put an window anntenna on the front windsheild and love it, you cant even see it, and it works great.

Also if I get time one day I'll try to do a DIY on shaving the hole, it took me about 30 mins to do, very easy bodywork mod.

needle nose pliers work well to remove that shiny nut.

I also have an antenna motor and mast for sale if you're interested.
