    Transmission Code 7

It says its the Shift Control Solenoid. I have a problem where my car doesn't have 1st gear, it starts in 2nd and then goes to 4th.. Anyone have any idea where the Solenoid is and how I can replace it? [It's an auto b.t.w]

edit: I just noticed alb is having the same problems.. jeeze.. maybe it's a famous cb7 thing..

if you think those two cylinder shaped objects are solenoids.. nah.. those are your filters. Solenoids are basically magnets. You have two at the bottom of your tranny on each side.. I tried replacing mine and it didn't work.. I think I'm going to hunt down another TCM and see if that fixes things.

are u sure? i posted the thing on the accordinglydone.com and i think those are the ones. i mean i fixed my problem with the S light by moving the wires next to the two things that u see there man. see my radiator hoze was fucked so it leaked colant on top of the wires and those tits looking things. so i moved the wires around and i don't get the problem anymore. that is why i think those are the selenoids. here is the link at accordinglydone.com

Those are solenoids. I think the ones in the pic are the torque converter lock-up solenoids, there's some other ones just like those on the front of the tranny, facing the radiator. Those are the shift solenoids....

man disconect the plugs and clean them up then conect them again. from what i have been told from other forums most of the times the wires are not good. so get an voltmeter and follow what the manual says to check the wires and the selenoids. in my case it came out to be the wires. lol i had to move tthe wires around 3 times because the light came up everytime i went on small bumps and over 40mph. so get a volt meter and see if u can find what is wrong with it. wires or selenoids.
mine works fine now. good luck man.
