    clutch?

ok i have a slight problem. after i got my car it started not wanting to go into reverse so i just let off the clutch a little and it would go right in. well now i changed the slave cylinder and replaced the fluid and it helped a little but now it is worse. sometimes from a dead stop it wont go into first and hardley ever into reverse until i let off the clutch a little. also if i dont shift it into fifth right at around 50 MPH it grinds into gear. i have been told that it might be my clutch. i have also been told it might be my throw out bearing. any help is welcome because everytime it grinds i feel so mean and abusive. thanks

Why not replace the master cylinder? Its only $30-$40 at the parts store.

have you checked your tranny fluid level? also, are you using genuine honda manual transmission fluid? this is the only fluid that you can use in your tranny. using anything else will cause grinding. i can vouch for this. honda mechanics can vouch for this as well.

when it doesn't wanna go in reverse, i would just throw it in another gear first, then throw it in reverse. it works eveytime. it only is stubborn like this when the tranny fluid is cold.

like the others said, maybe it could be your clutch master cylinder. did you use the right clutch/brake fluid? did you use enough?

i would check all these first before blaming your clutch itself or the throw out bearing. these two have symptoms of their own when they become troublesome.
