I Disconnected the EGR Valve But Got No CEL

I am so fed-up with my EGR that today disconnected the 3P plug from the EGR but never got a CEL even after driving for about 30 miles. Does that mean I have a bad EGR , bad harness or bad ECU ?

Yes. It comes on when put the key in the "ON" position and goes after I hear the main relay. I tried pulling codes but just got a steady CEL (meaning I have no codes stored).

Thanks for the link. I looked at all those threads. I thoroughly cleaned mine and installed a new gasket and torqued it down. I took a vacuum pump, applied vacuum, it held the vacuum and made my engine idle real rough.
