I'm wondering if my main relay is out because my car won't start. It was having trouble starting when it was hot before (i.e. taking 3 tries to get it to start), but now it won't start at all. Anyway, I hear a click when the check engine light turns off, and I can't tell if its the main relay or not...

if the CEL stays on before cranking then your relay is bad or faulty. it should turn on initially but turn off when the relay clicks over so you can start the car. the click you hear is correct when the light goes out.
if you know it's your relay what i do is hit the underside of my dash. it doesn't always work though haha. they are known to fail on our cars so it could very well be the culprit.

hey just wondering what the TW sensor is?Originally posted by ShehzadaOn my older 89 LX-i , after I knew the MR was good, I changed the TW sensor. It had the same symptoms you describe. After changing it, no problems since then.
thanks

alright yes its your relay, our Main Relays are prone to have issue's, its something about hot weather and our interior heating up to the point where it fries the relay......just replace it and keep replacing it if need be....you can go to Napa or something but like i just told justin(high c) on AIM, get one from Honda.....best way to save the relay, keep your window's slightly down during the summer, and if it acts up give it a good hit to the dash it should kick back into voltage, if not just do something else while the interior cools, i'll update this tommrow and let you guys know the real reason this happens, but i think its something to do with the heat makes the memory board melt or something i dunno, i'll check my pile of relays i have in my toolbox and diagnoise the problem.....93 Accord- SOLD
