    ECU Question

Most if not every one knows my vtec oil pressure switch situation. Well I finally got some where with Steve from HMO. Yes he did say that ALL motors with vtec in '95 did not come with vtec oil pressure switches. We can to terms and he said that we can exchange ECU's. My question is....just for now. Can I use my old ecu off my F22? Right now I have the usdm p13 in there...all wired up for vtec already. The old ecu will still plug up right? And when I do this...what kind of performance am I gonna get? is the car even gonna run?

    I have a JDM H22 btw.

    Thanks!

sure itll run... no CELs, no real problems... just runs rich, and slow... feels like an F22 or H23, somewhere in there

          93 ex ecu? I shouldn't have a rev limiter right...or a speed limiter....hmmmm lol

as you prolly know...its just something until I get that jdm p13 ecu.

Do I have to disconnect the battery to remove and install my old ecu?

i am curious why you are changing the usdm and jdm p13s? they both look for all the same sensors...cept the jdm speed limits around 115mph..

They have no speed limiter but they do have a rev limiter @ 6800 trust me ive tested it before lol. ANd i have a 92 ex with pt6 ecu.

thats what HMO told me that they would send me the JDM one if I give them the one I have right now....maybe an ECU from that year would help? Maybe it isnt a p13 I dunno. but he said he was giving me an ecu that worked with that engine.

i suspect that all 92-95 p13s will throw a code for the vtec pressure switch being missing, no matter if they are usdm or jdm computers.
That would also be the first time I have heard that all 1995 vtec engines do not have vtec pressure switches. I know ALL usdm h22;s have them and I have heard of SOME JDM B series 96+ engines not having them.

yeah there are some people on here that have had the same problem...most if not all got the switch...me, I dont have the money lol...so I'm just gonna exchange ecu's.

good luck, though i predict you will end up buying the switch. though It may be possible that you can get around it by jsut grounding the signal wire for vtec pressure switch.

next time I call him..prolly tmrw. I'm gonna get more info on this...cause cpmike's engine didn't come with one either...so there has to be a prelude ecu out there that doesnt check for it..cause why would they not put it in there.
