SRI w/ Resonator

I searched and there was nothing like what I'm asking.

Anyway, I installed my SRI without taking out the resonator, does that effect the sound at all because I can't really hear my intake at WOT and I wanna hear that mean roar.

i didnt know that intakes came with resonators, are you sure you are saying the right thing?

thers no such things as a resonator for intakes....did u mean the air intake bypass?? the filter used when ur cold air is submerged in water???.....

I think he means the OEM resonator box that is behind the bumper and under the battery. I dont think that would reduce the SRI sound at all...

I don't see how that would make much of a difference but theres no need to have it now so feel free to remove it.

to answer your question Fr0z3n...It should not. because the only thing that taking out the stock resonator would do is 2 things:

1. Reduce weight.
2. leave a really small open hole leading from the engine bay to the area where the resonator was before.

Basically, taking out the resonator would do nothing to produce the sound you are looking for.

i have a AEM sri and i left the stock resonator in and it sounds the same with it in and with it out i just leave it in in hope that more air will flow better to the filter but im not sure

if i were you i wouls not take it out
i would leave it in and just get like say a grinding wheel and chop off the from so it is likea funnel
