    key/ignition issues

this has been goin on for a while, never though anything of it because the car isnt being driven right now..its on jack stands actually

but the key will not come out of the ignition

the car is engaged in park, ebrake is on, idk what it oculd be

the left side brakes are disassembled right now, could that have anything to do with it?

i need some help, just so i cant get the key out..i know its not "stuck" , its more like the lock is still on it..

is the car turned off and if so your ignition switch prolly locked up easiest way to get the key out is gonna be to take the whole cylinder out and replace it leave the key in the lock for the moment the 2 cap screws on the colum have top be tapped out then the key has to turn for the easiest removale

Check the steering column lock (prevents the wheel from turning unless the key is in the ignition). If it is okay, then next suspect the insides of the key lock. Spray some oil (spray can works best) along the key into the insides of the lock. Better oils to use are solvent/oil types (liquid wrench being one).

i know for certain its not jammed or stuck in there

the key lock is engaged, you could just tell

the wheel is free rutning becase the key is in it, im just thinking its reading the brakes being off and considering the car not safely in park

could that be even close to what the problem is/what the problem is related to??

Go ahead and try the oil process first, it won't hurt. You gotta realize that when the insides of a lock get no lubrication, it can freeze in place. Just like the winter time. So go get some of your oil in there.

ahh i had this kind of problem. its really sucks bro. our cb7s are know to have sometimes sticky ignitions. it take quite a bit of force to take it back out. but after you do, just use some tight bolt losener spray into the ignition. it should fix up sometime soon. good luck.

it's kinda like this...if ya don't use it, you lose it. like everything else in the world, ya gotta use it to keep it working good. your brakes don't have anything to do with it. just my lil ole $.02

i have a dead cell in te battery, so we're replacing it

but we have charged it for enough for it to stay alive for a few hours, same thing

and the car is engaged in park, unless for some reason its reading its not, which was what i was looking into
