    Driveablity problem...need some help.

I got a question for the group. My 93 EX automatic intermittantly when first pulling out will bog out like it is starved for gas or getting too much gas it actually backfires if I hold the gas petal down. If I let off and re-gas it it's fine or if I pop it in neutral and rev it also it goes back to normal. It was tuned up last summer and I just put a new fuel filter on it. I more thing to ponder on she seems to not have really good power at the moment either.

Theroy 1: Main relay going bad?
Theroy 2: Fuel pump getting ready to go?

    Any thoughts?

    PLEASE HELP!!

i really think its got somthing to do with the gas......chek to see if ur injector are clogged up or not working.......my friend use to have the same thing, only it was on a CRX....we chek the injector and it was clogged up and no good no more.... did u use injector cleaner stuff to clean ur tank and the injection system???? if u did....that be ur problem, meaning new injectors......i check that out......since u mention u put new fuel filter, i assuming u use some of that fuel injector system clear.....well let me know....sounds like it starving for gass

Yeah I used fuel injector cleaner and no CEL codes were set off either.

Stupid question but how do you test your injectors? I never messed with them before, have not had a car with bad injectors yet. Also if 1 is bad should I replace them all. Plus I get real shitty gas mileage. 18-21 max per gallon.

Honda Accord 1993 - 1993 . Fuel Pump Screen (Strainer) Could that be a possibility and are they on the EX's the dealer told me only the fuel filter. This is driving my f'n crazy and at this point I am game for anything just to get it to stop.

yup, thats your problem man...ur fuel injectors....my friend use fuel injector cleaner on his crx and it clogged his injector up with some white powedery stuff inside his fuel injectors......i assuming the mixing of the chemecal in the bottle for injector cleanin mixing with gasoline makes some kind of powdery white stuff and they clogg ur injector...maybe ok for carbs, but not for fuel injector cars.....on his we replace the injectors, and put on a new fuel filter too, cus that stuff all over ur fuel system.....but do change that out as soon as possible, ur injectors are probably fried up too if they were clogged with those wite stuff...u will need new injectors.....check that out, i bet that gotta be ur problem man, if u did u that fuel injector cleaner, !!!!!

If the fuel injectors are going bad won't the CEL light come on?

not if its a clog. Fuel injector cleaner wont make white powder unless you use dollar store brand crap. EGR ports could be clogged. Run chevron techron fuel cleaner through the car it should help. If it doesnt than do a seafoam job on the car and that will help. Read up on sea foam though since if you do it wrong you will ruin the motor.
No longer working on the cb. To much time and money has been put into it. Check my for sale thread where the whole car will be parted out.

I am game to try anything at this point. lol I will try fuel cleaner again. My mechanic wants me to bring it by and test the fuel pumps pressure to see if it is getting weak. I have hella power loss too so I just want to get her running good again.

Pour it in too fast and you hydro lock your motor.

okkkkk.... anyways. It sounds like timing to me. My CB7 was mistimed and when I stepped on it it would make a weird grunt sometimes and not really move. If I stepped on it hard, it would just backfire and die. Check your firing order, and plugs too.

I was going to say check your plugs and wires. Have you done your wires recently?
On my old 86 LXi I had gone like 100K miles on the same wires, and they got frayed and started shorting out across the insulation, causing the wrong cylinder to spark.
Take a squirt bottle, the kind that has a mist setting. Go out to your car turn it on, and heavily mist across the spark plug wires. If they are bad you will see sparks and hear snaps and clicks where the electricity is crossing across.
Why? Because... Life Happens @ 4500 RPM

Timing was done and this has been going on before the timing job. Also plugs and wires are less than a year old.

What about the fuel pressure regulator? I am going to get my mechanic to look at it to see what is wrong on the 12th, however this was something else that hit me as a possibility and just wanted some opinions.
