h23 intake manifold question

do i really need the iab black box? my friend said i can just run it off direct manifold vacuum. i dont have the black box so can i just run it off manifold vacuum? the actuator for the iabs is powered by vacuum so what should i do?

yes, i beleive thats waht 99% of the ppl on this board with the h23 IM's do or did hahaha thats what i did too, coming from an a1 manifold u definetly feel some sorta kick around 4-4.5k rpm (butt dyno results)

I have an H23 intake manifold hooked up with vacuum hose only, no IAB box. I also have a Delta 272 cam regrind and my powerband is from 4-7K rpm.
