ignition question

i have a 92 accord wagon lx...whenever i have need to start the car i have to turn my lights on in order to start...this seems kind of weird to me because no where in the handbook does it say this...is this how all the accords came? is this some kind of security feature?

if not then i don't see any use fixing it...its reassuring seeing my friends try to drive off my car and they end up not being able to start my car

yes, this is a security thing. I've seen this setup on alot of cars.
