I did it by having it chained to the hoist.. incase it did try to tip over. Then I also had a wrench on the crank pulley bolt, so it would catch on the ground when it tried to spin.

iight ive got the hoist, and im gonna connect it to that, strap it down to the pallet and then attempt it again tomorrow. only thing i dont think ill have is a wrench long enough to hit the ground

p.s. this is my first time using a torque wrench, how do i know when ive reached the desired torque spec?

Well snug the bolts down with your hand then whatever the torque spec is ( I think is 20) Well divide that by 2 or 3 and that will be where you start. Then increase by amount to final tq spec. For example 20 ft/lbs divide it by 2 which gives you 10 ft/lbs. Criss cross it at 10 ft lbs then tighten it finally at 20 ft lbs. Basically you never want to go the full 20 or so lbs on the first try because it wont be balanced. But yea tighten it in a criss cross pattern and so on and yo should be good.
