Re: Battery Recommendation?
I personally like the high rated Interstate Batteries or Delco. I just put an MTP24 http://www.ibsa.com/estore/view_prod...5TDV64VB0&js=1 in my 92 while years ago put in an MT34 in my 91. My local CarQuest gave me great prices on them.Originally posted by Blk EX Coupe

i work at sears automotive get a diehard gold last a while 3 year warranty on them and its better then interstate or walmart batteries we a lot of those come in and there junk people complain its been on there car for a year or wat not but it still sucks and its on sale right now.. the thing that kicks ass is 9.99 for diehard service but it checks your alty old battery and your electrical if theres a drain so yea its pretty kool but if you wanna go big bucks and you have a mad audio system go get a optima... battery number at sears ask for a gold 35 cuz they'll shit you out and put like a 25... gold 35 has 550 cca *cold cranking amps* and the 25 has only 500 not a big difference but its juss better too it fits and looks better in the engine bay cuz the 25 has a gap cuz its smaller but yea okay i talk to much now... k here think about it this way 3 choices
optima
die hard gold (sears batteries)
walmart batt, interstate, daystarter (others)
optima is expensive but really good... useless for a daily driver car.... good for performance and audio power.
diehard gold good for daily driving
other.... will die within a year or start leaking
sorry for the long uselss wordsBeast: Evo X

I had a bigger Die hard Gold, but when I took the car to sears because of acid spilling problems, they told me that the battery in there was too large, and while the physical size was ok, it was not meant for tight engine compartments like the Honda's. So they stuck in a smaller one with the gap, and so far no more probs.
You can tell if you have acid spillage if you see round spots on the hood above the battery. I had them, and when I saw USC's car, he had them too!
The downside to the acid spillage was that it ate through my AC system lines and I had to go a summer without AC because the parts were on national backorder! uggh

YES, The OE class size is 24. Brand, CCA is all up to you. Because I live in a cold climate, I go for higher CCA. There are only a couple of battery manufacturers out there under various brands. If yoiu do a google search, everything you ever wanted to know about batteries is out there. Consumer Reports had the Delco as the #1 battery @ some point and I had good luck with those. The other was Interstate. Also if you noticed I have a class 34 in my 91 Accord. The only diff between this and a 24 is the lower height. You did ask for opinions?Originally posted by Blk EX Coupe
so basically i just need a class 24 battery?
any other recommendations?
You might also want to consider this....if you are only keeping the car for a couple years, go for the cheapest battery out there. There is usually a pretty good warranty for the first 24 months on most batteries.
