Erratic Idle after timing belt instal

Finally got the new timing and balance shaft belt in...started it up and engine is running like crap...I thought I lined everything up right according to the haynes manual..but engine is running really poor...Its fine if idle is at 1000rpm..but once it drops it runs like crap and itsup and down up and down..Any Ideas...I would hate to have to take apart again and retime the damn thing..

pull off your cam cover and see if the gear is lined up right. Sounds like your off by a bit.

Hey man..I looked at it..seemed to be lined up...But I cant really tell..I guess Im gonna have to take apart again...
