    Alternator confirmation.

Alright I got a question here and I am 98% positive its the alternator. I just want to verify it. Well I am getting an squeak or hum whatever you want when I am idling and it is quite loud. As I pick up engine speed pass 3000 the hum and crap goes away and its coming from the engine alternator area. COuldnt really see since it just crapped out on me and its dark outside but it dont sound too nice. The alternator is putting out charge BUT I think the bearing or whatever inside is taking a crap by the sound of it. YOu can only hear it at idle but higher engine speeds you cant hear it. Either way I think imma change it out this weekend also...Damn my car is just wearin out this week lol and I havent driven it that hard lately. I guess its not used to me not hittin VTAK at least once a day lol.

Yea Im worried about the bearing I need to drive it back to Dallas tomorrow which is about a 100 or so mile drive. Its all g its still puttin out enough voltage its just squeaking like a mofo. Im changing it out since I got lifetime warranty on this bitch anyway.

u sure its not the power steering pump, if its the alternator, change that bitch out, u dont want it to lock up because of bad bearing, then the belt would turn the althernator pulley and nut off an du lose the nut and pulley then your belt would get all fuct up with the power steering pump belt because its on the inside. Thats wat happen to my lude, change it out, be safe!

I'm not denying that its your alt, but I used to have a very similar problem, and it was my fuel filter. Replaced it with oem and it went away.

But this was just me, it was the first thing I thought of when you described your symptoms....

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

Nah it wasnt my fuel filter couldnt be with the sound it was making I found out what it was....Damn crank pulley is rubbing on the timing cover. You can see more shit when there is light. Oh well put in a new alternator and its finally working better too no more light dimming ftw.
