    Starter question

Ok I just put my car's ignition into III and jumpered the two terminals on my starter with a screwdriver to see if the starter will even spin over and I must say I'm even more baffled now than I was before.

If I jumpered the two shouldn't the starter spin and also spin the motor??? It spun, but not the heavy churning spin of spinning the motor, is just whirred loudly.

Not only that, normally when a starter goes out it at least clicks or tries to spin over or something, but when I turn my key NOTHING at all happens, just the click of the relay in the dash.

the starter has three wires. u probably didnt connect the 3rd wire. that's why u hearing spinnin noise. a third wire push the wheel into the flywheel then wut u just did would spin the flywheel and start up the car. without that wire ur not touchin anything .

You got a bad starter. The solenoid isnt pushing the gear in to mesh with the flywheel to turn the motor hence why it just spins freely. And jumpering it with the screwdriver should be able to turn over the car.
