Tranny Problem. Please Help!!!!!!!!!!

i have a 92 ex auto with 144k. today while driving home from work, my engine revved up high while on the highway. then, when i got off the highway, it lost a lot of power especially pulling out from a stop. then, when i was parking and shifted it into park, the D4 light stayed on in the dash thru every gear. i checked the fluid and it was fine. just wanted some input before taking it to a shop. i have a bad feeling the tranny might be going out for good, but it was driving fine yesterday, and it has never had any problems before. i have always changed the atf regularly.

does anybody have any advice or know a good shop in the baltimore area. if it does need a new tranny, i may look into the manual conversion. all input is appreciated. thanks in advance.

well i went out to check the codes, but the D4 light would not blink, it just stayed on. i also noticed that the car would shift out of park without pushing the brake in. this made me think it was the neutral safety switch. i then for the hell of it pulled the fuse for the ecu and radio in the engine compartment and the ecu fuse in the driver's kick panel and let then out for a couple minutes. i put them all back in and the D4 light does not come on and the car runs fine. i'll keep my fingers crossed. thanks for the advice.
