    Odd noise!

I know this is a 4th gen site, but it's worth a shot.

My car emits a noise from the rear of the engine compartment after I've driven it up to and at N.O.T. for a while. After I've parked the car and the exhaust piping has stopped contracting and expanding and the oil pan has stopped it's noises, another sound begins.

It sounds like a fluttering/buzzing, and it's coming from the rear of the engine compartment towards the firewall, on the distributor side of the motor. It comes it short bursts that last about 6 seconds, followed by a pause ranging from 30 sec - 2 mins.

Anybody deal with this before, if so....what is it, and how do I fix it?

It's not the coolant, or the fan as I thought at first with the hood still latched.

I propped the hood up and stood there waiting for the noise to occur again. It comes from the back of the engine compartment towards the fire wall, on the side the distributor cap is on.

I can't pin point the exact location of it, and it's driving insane!
