    Water pump on H22

has anyone replaced a water pump on their H22? I have the intstructions on how to do it, i just wanna know how difficult it would be. i have the option of doing it at my school where i have access to a lift and all the tools, but the downside is my car would be there for a couple weeks. i could do it in my garage in a few days with the help of my dad and a few friends and have it done sooner. any suggestions?

you really don't need the lift, just a floor jack and stands, i would rather do it at home sooner cause i would have not driving my car for a while, i think it took me like 4 hours to do mine, but i was messing around, just double check your timing once you put everything back together and make sure no leaks are present

please use the oem honda one,

how hard is it to get the crank pulley off? would i need a impact or would a breaker bar be sufficient enough? thats the only thing i'm really worried about

an impact would be best, but sometimes that doesn't get it off, if you could get the honda crank pulley tool it will make life a whole lot easier, use that with a breaker bar and you will be good, and some pb blaster too

i believe matco or snap on, one of those, its a specialty tool so it might be like 80 bucks i think, some members on here have it, maybe they will post and let borrow it or something like that

where you located? I'm in D.G. IL and paid $73 to the matco guy for my tool.

however I got this tool AFTER i got the crank bolt out. I wrapped an old serpentine belt around the pulley and got it wedged, and then used a 1/2" socket and a pipe and my body weight and popped the bolt loose. Luckily the pulley just slid right off after that, but you may need a puller, penetrating lube and possibly a torch.

If you wanna know about my experineces doing the water pump, let me know. I just replace the timing belts and water pump on my 90 LX.

PM me and I'll be glad to tell you all I know
