    Valve Gasket Install

Alright well I'm confused on a few things. First of all... the new gaskets.

    1) I put the RTV Grease on the head itself - the thing I took off?

    2) I see 4 other round rubber gaskets - where do those go.

I've searched and looked in my Haynes manual but I'm a little confused. This is my first time in this engine, but I'm pretty mechanically inclined so I thought I could tackle it. Just a few questions and I'll be on my way!

those are the lower tube seals, they go in between the head and the rocker assembly.

Well I replaced the spark plugs (the old ones were oily and rounded tips). I also replaced just the upper gaskets since I already put the top back on by the time I found out where the others go...I have to say I was nervous when I started the car, but it took just one extra crank and it sounded better than ever.

The vibration when idling has SIGNIFICANTLY gone down. I also added 3.5 quarts of oil... 1 quart was Lucas Oil Additive, hopefully that should help the oil burning also. Just wanted to note how BIG of a difference this made with my car!!!

Oh, and I tried to replace the front engine mount, however I coulnd't get to the bottom bolt so I just put it back on there, now I'm questioning if I should since the vibration is almost gone! Its still there in reverse...but how often are you in reverse??

Oil additives are snake oil- a waste of money. They'll do more damage than good.

actually lucas is not too bad.

I'd only add HALF a quart in an older honda though. A full quart is TOO much.
