Yes i have a question about a timing belt issue. The other day i was driving down the interstate and i was running about 75 mph at about 3500 rpm's when my car just died. Now i pulled over to the shoulder and tried to start my car a couple of times and it would not start so then i popped the hood and started checking things. Well i pried the timing cover off and the belt was broke. My question is do you think at the speed i was going and by me trying to start the car i could have bent valves? Also is there any way to check and see if you do have bent valves? I do not want to spend the money to put a timing belt on my car if the chances are that i have a bent valve. Any help would be appriciated.

chances are good that you have some bent valves
the only way to see if you have bent valves for sure is by taking off the head for a good inspection of them. *Edit: another good way to test for bent valves is a compression test.*
good news is F22 engines are a dime a dozen. all you'd really need (unless the pistons have marks from banging into the valves) is a new F22 head which shouldn't be that much money. You'll also need a new Timing belt (of corse) and a water pump would also be a wise thing to put on wile your at it.

timing belt breaking
sorry to here that dude but most likely u bent ur valves. this model accord and other model honda/acuras have wat i believe they call and intermitting engine i may be mistaken. but if ur belt broke and ur engine died at hi rpm more than likely u bent the valves which will cost u. unless u do the work u self by taking a part the head. once again sorry to tell ya dis bro.

You can do a compression test to check for bent valves, however chances are you most likely did. Sorry to hear that man. I see this shit all the time. I don't understand why poeple don't keep up on basic maintnence so this doesn't happen.

no worries.... your vavles ARE bent.
Just go find a head off of another f22 for 100 bucks. Buy the timing belt and h20 pump for 70 bucks.
Then find a decent mechanic and pay him about 200 bucks.
BLAMO!
New(used)head, new belt, new pump for under 400 bucks.
Dont even pay to have your head rebuilt. That would be outrageous.Noobie my ASS.

Sorry to hear about your bent valves (which i'm sure happened). Good news is that you can get a different head, and they're usually a dime-a-dozen. Bad news is all the pain in the ass it'll be to change it.Former: 90 Accord EX Coupe, 93 10th Anniversary in Frost White

well u might wanna check the piston rings and other internal engine components before u do work on the head. chances are u might wanna rebuild the whole engine. the reason i say this is because on my first accord my timing belt went fuck while i was doing about 80miles/hour. i got the head rebuild but after a while driving my car it began burning a lot of oil(one bottle a week but no smoke at all).
so u might wanna check other stuff before u start doing any major work on the head.
sorry to hear about that shit. u should have checked the timing belt when u first bought the car. it sucks learning stuff by experience man.
good luckare we there yet are we there yet are we there yet

did anybody else pay attention to his name? he may actually have the h22...if so i feel very sorry for you and your motor
although the mph and rpm's coincide with f22 gears...i hope he didn't have a h22Knowledge is power...in EVERY sense of the word
