HELP....new P/S rack replaced.

    HELP....new P/S rack replaced.

    My power steering rack broke, so I had it replaced. Before the new rack my steering there was no "gap" in the steering. When they put in the new PS rack, theres a loose gap around "dead center". If any knows what I mean, this seems to happen alot on old american cars, i'm not sure why.?

    Also, with the new PS rack, when I hit bumps, it sounds like I have no sus. bushings. It "knocks" really bad.?

      yeah you need to definately taki it back or somewhere else it sounds like they may have missed something tightening up some suspension component, maybe even bushings. that would give you the mushy steering. until you said the bump sound i thought maybe they had'nt bled the rack upon replacing it.
