I finally got my new auto put in but now I cant get the o/d to work. I pulled the TCU and no burnt resistors. I adjusted the cable that goes from the intake to the lever on the tranny. When I do that it works for a minute and pops out again and doesnt work for the rest of the time I am driving it until I adjust it again and the process starts all over again. I made sure everything was hooked up correctly. The TCU is throwing NO codes. Does anybody know what the hell is going on?

maybe something isn't sitting right and it can't PHYSICALLY go into OD. cable have a kink or anything in it? just a simple kink/crimp can mess it up.
if it's going but not kicking in, it could be related to the torque converter or even the tranny itself.....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.

Well its funny how the old tranny did the exact same thing and the new one is like beautiful and it shifts buttery smooth unlike the other one. I quadruple checked everything to make sure it was all correct. I adjusted the cable like I read on here somewhere. And it still does not work. Could it be the switch inside the shifter thats doing it? I noticed that it only kicks in after a launch and will stay in for a minute then cut back out again and the process repeats. Im going to put my old "burnt resistor" ecu back in and see what it does....im very doubtful.

If your engine is not getting up to the right temp it will not go into overdrive also. Sometimes the thermostat is not working right and it is not quite to the right temp. Just an idea?Originally posted by Shag WagonWell its funny how the old tranny did the exact same thing and the new one is like beautiful and it shifts buttery smooth unlike the other one. hmmm...NONE of the resistors are bad?? thats really weird. if nothing else, maybe take it to a transmission shop and have them look at it. unless its really expensive, i dont know what that would cost...
