    questoin about p13

i've been reading around about chipping because i'm thinking about just tinkering with it for a while. I have a p28 that is chipped but it's just not quiet right for my h22a4...so that car is just sitting. I've been considering just running a p13 right now until i get everything figured out. And i've read that you can't chip a p13...yet on ebay you can get a chip for the p13... on pgmfi.org you can get the bin's of a p13...and even intrustions on how to do it...

If i do endup getting a p13 all i'm interested in doing is raising red line a little bit, maybe even change vtec engagment rpm. I'm so confused as to what is being said...can anyone straighten me out?

Has to be 5spd, has to be CHEAP. SUPER CHEAP. Will be in Indiana in February permanently and want a project car when I get settled in.

They have a "JUN" chip for the p13 thats the only one I have seen and dunno if it works right. Someone has it on here forgot the sn. The p13 bins are most likely basemaps you can put on other ECU's for whatever application you are going to run.

ok, yea...this is a really confusing subject but i'll try to clear it up as best i can. The p13, p14, pt3, and pt6 are all technically chippable but not by conventional methods. There are a couple of companies, forinstance JET, that have figured out how to change the map in the ecu but they are the only ones that can modify the map at all. So if you ever wanted to change something very subtle in your map like remap the ecu for a set of cams you'd have to send your ecu back to them because they would be the only ones that could do it.

Theres that and the fact that the civic and integra ecu's are MUCH easier to work with. The civs and tegs operate on an addition/subtraction method to figure out how much fuel or ignition advance the engine should get. Very easy to understand if you ever see the fuel or ignition map. The accords and ludes are on some weird multiplication deal. The rpms aren't even uniform they bounce around so much u can barely tell where you are in the map. The civs and tegs are world's ahead with all the special features and technology. Whereas the accords and lude's can't even operate boost or accurately scale for larger injectors.

All those ebay chips that say Spoon or JUN are crap. Its added fuel and added ignition for a bunch of stuff you probably don't even have on your car. They just use the spoon and jun name to sell it easier like adidas used Kobe.

So much easier to just stick to the civs and teg's ecus.
I actually did manage to copy a Gude ecu chip off a p14 and it does work but the map is so confusing i can't really mess with more than the rev limits. Oh and it turns out i actually do better soldering work on ecu's than Gude lmao

Read the how to chip in the performance section toward the top of the page. Chips of ebay are worthless. I am running one all it does it make you run rich and get shit for gas mileage.

so if i have a p13 with a "JUN" chip im pretty much fucked as far as tuning goes?

yes, in the ass. Most any tuner could only change a couple rev limits for you.

civ and teg 0bd1 ecu's are like legos. You can build them to all do the exact same thing. I can either get one for you or u can send me one to chip it doesn't matter. Just PM me for further inquiries.
