    battery cables

well if it isn't one thing, it's another. and apparently now my battery cables are screwed up possibly.

the car has no power, even the stupid clock isn't on, and when you try to turn it over the battery light comes on along with seatbelt and brake (e-brake). but when I went to charge the battery, the battery is already charged.

and I had run the car just a few days prior to it failing to start. the battery cables do look to have some corrosion but the terminals are not corroded, although one has a slight bit of rust on the outside.

also, I just bought the battery at the end of august. so it's practically brand new.

so at this point, battery cable replacement may be in the mix.

just want any comments on types of cables people prefer, also, if they make red ones, so I can start to color match the cables to the paint. rofl.

Just run to the local o'reillys and pick you up cables...or autozone. If you want them the same color go paint them or something lol. I saw someone wanting to paint there spark plug wires on HT lol. He got flamed to hell.

I just got my battery replaced an hour ago....something about how old batteries don't work in this crazy -30degrees Celsius weather ....

anyways I was told that as a rule of thumb, replace the primary battery cables when getting a new battery...it only costs a little extra anyways

well I was thinking about using the red electrical tape. just for added protection on the wires so if I do get new ones, they won't get fucked up like these ones.

but seriously, if I am gonna be putting in battery cables why not get colored ones? I'm not talking about spray painting them or anything like that so I don't see it as really a problem.. nothing wrong with wanting everything to match up and look decent.. rather than having black cables in a red engine bay..

I havent seen any colored ones but have fun finding some. Wouldnt doubt if someone made them you just gotta search. I just go buy them at oreillys. Black is fine with me.

well if they are gonna be a super rare part or whatever then no.. but if they were just readily available then why not.. guess I'll just get black ones.

I'd be careful about wrapping them with red electrical tape just because it tends to come off and leave residual gunk in high temperature situations.

Good luck finding colored wires and be sure to post a link if/when you do.

You know what? You could probably just go to any car stereo place and buy the right thickness wire with red covers. It's probably 1 or 0 AWG.
