Fuse Keeps a Blowin

Aight the dome light in my car has been out for about a week. Ever since it went out the door lights have stopped working, the door chimes stopped working (i.e. when i leave the headlights on or when the key is in the ignition and the door is open). I tried replacing the dome light and the fuse. This fixed everything for a few hours then the fuse blew again . Does anybody know wtf is going on?

If the fuse keeps blowing, you probobly have a short somewhere.

If the fuse keeps blowing, there's a a short in the line somwhere- perhaps 2 wires that have had insulation rubbing together and end up contacting, thereby shorting the ciricuit and blowing the fuse.

Has there been any custom wiring in the car? Water poured on the fuse box or a leak that would cause the fuse box to get wet?

Look up in the back of a service manual the wiring diagram and see what else is on the same fuse that keeps blowing and start from there.

most likely a relay needs replacing as well... this happened to me with my turns,,

also an older friend of mine suggested checking the cig lighter.. he had a penny in his and had blown all electricity in his car

My cousin has a chrysler minivan and we put one of those car inverter things in it and sucked the power out of the car with what we had running off of it (it was more than we should have...i won't go into any more detail), but the interior fuse blew and so the cig lighter went out...now the car keeps blowing the interior light fuse...never really figured it out but always said its never been the same since we sucked the juice out of the car with that inverter.
