yes the amount of vibration in reverse is the same as nutral but wth does the suspention have to do with anything the only time its vibrating is when its stopped. and accualy the past couple of days its even vibrating in nutral. I fell like drivin the car into a fuckin wall
i second that i just noticed its also shaking now in reverse i was better off just keeping the old ones on
1) Some of the aftermarket ones are not as good, because they use different rubber compounds. Just like hard or soft polyurethane, this can effect the amount of vibration.
It is odd that it only happens in drive though, although typically, that is the worst gear for vibration.
2) You mentioned that the vacuum section of the mount is working correctly.
Did you check to make sure the base of the mount didn't rip?
If it is still in tact, proceed to the next step.
3) Unfortunately, Honda has a specific tightening sequence for the mounts.
Yes it seem weird, but on of the things it specifically mentions in Helms is that if the order is not correct, vibration may be an issue.
If you have a Helms, look and see what the order is. You will have to loosen all the bolts (but not take them out) and then retorque in sequence.
If you don't have one, I will post the order up for you later today when I get home.
4) Even the though the front mount is primarily responsible for torque control, and the rear for vibration, perhaps one of the other 4 mounts is bad.
You need to make sure you inspect both the tranny mount and the driver's side mount for condition.
Also, just because you recently replaced the dogbone mount doesn't mean that it didn't break again.
Unfortunately, to help keep the car smooth, the rubber they use on those is pretty wimpy. It isn't uncommon for even the OEM ones to break after 60-100K. I don't know that your dogbone has the much on it, but if it was a cheap replacement, it may have gone bad again.
5) You need to make sure all of the bracket bolts that attach the rear mount bracket to the engine are tight. This goes for the through bolt, and the bolts that mount the mount to the frame.
A good test for the rear mount is to put your hand under the IM and lift. If the engine rocks easily, you have an issue. If not, you will have look at other stuff.
6) You also need to replace your D4 bulb or just change clusters (90-91, and 92-93, do not have the same plugs, so make sure it is 92-93).
That way you will know if it is the tranny. It seems odd to me that the the tranny acting up would have started at the EXACT moment you changed the mount, but stranger things have happened.
Let me know if that helps. If not, let me know anyway, and we will see whatelse we can troubleshoot.
the front mount was $130 it wasnt cheap and its only got maybe 15000kms on it. Also the car itself doesnt vibrate in neutral but the steering wheel still almost does it as bad. Im gonna get it checked again might put the origonal one back in
i got a question , ive had this similar problem well more or less .ok mine is while im driving the whole motor jerks terribly and change out, jerks very hard in park or reverse to the point where as if the car about to take off . ive change the tranny 3times now and i cant even sell my 4th gen bcos of this problem .all the mount are a1 fine, torque converter changed for the third time too .now my deep concern about this vacumm mount tube thing can this make the motor rock, shake, jerk ,vibrate this badly ?
