Bad VSS? Please help!

Ok so i was driving my car last night and when i went to go step on it the car wouldn't kickdown (auto). If i put it in 1st the car rips like no other but as soon as i get to D3, D4 it just bogs out. Also the car barely even idles after the transmission problem started it drops down to about 50 rpm's and then jumps back up to 750rpm's. I was wondering if a bad VSS can cause this. Also their is no CEL in the cluster showing up.

the vss checks ur speed....has nothing to do with ur problem, and ur CEL would've lite if the vss went out.
