    How do these work?

I have two gages that were installed but the only thing that works is the light for the Oil pressure psi. The other gauge says temp degrees. I dont know how to hook these up but since i have them i might as well get them working right? Well if anyone could help that would be nice. Thanks I took a few pictures so you can get a better picture of what im dealing with.

well you have 1 guage that reads your oil pressure. and the other is for your engine coolant tempurature.

the oil one has two wires for the light. The hose going to it needs to be connected to the engine's oil passage. The easiest way is to connect it were the oil pressure switch is located, but taking a wild guess and saying that you might not be that mechanic savvy you might want some help finding and installing it. You can hook up both the oil pressure switch, or just have one or the other working your car won't care.

the thermostat one is somewhat simple. You'll need to find the engine temp signal sender unit. It's located almost directly below the distribitor and has a single bullet type connector. You can switch back and forth wires. The guage on your cb should be fine enough for your purposes unless the sender is broken. In which case fix it.

was that clear enough or do i need to elaborate?

Yes you are right. Im not very smart with all this. Its clear to me what you are saying im just not sure where the oil pressure will be located at. I know what your talking about with the distribitor i just have to find where it connects. I got some friends comin over that say they know how to hook it up so there gonna show me. Thanks for the help.

the oil pressure switch is in the middle of cylinders 2 and 3 in the rear (intake side) of the motor. It's about midway from the intake and the oil filter. There "SHOULD" be a kinda fat looking sensor with 1 wire going to it, and boot that covers it. it's about 1" long and 1" round. kinda hard to spot, but easy to get from under the car

That looks like a mechanical temp gauge, not electrical. Which would complicate things a bit.

Out of all those wires theres one wire thats gray and prety long. At the end of it, theres a kinda of magnet looking thing kind of shaped like a bullet. does that go in the sensor?

Ditch the mechanical oil pressure gauge, Its too much of a pain to install. If not done properly you risk having hot engine oil spraying inside the cabin of the car.

it would suck..but that would be a sight to see.....someone trying to drive and get the hot oil from burning them at the same time...
