Brake Light Problem

    Brake Light Problem

    Ok ive replaced both bulbs, and i checked the fuses. But when i apply the brakes the bulbs do not light up.

    Could it be the brake light switch?

    Im sorta confused to as what the problem is. Never had to deal with something like this before.

    I hate electrical problems.... bah

    None of your brake lights work??

    There were 3 out on mine (the two on the passenger side, and the top mount light), and all the bulbs were fine when i checked them.

    It turned out to be the connection to the little box that will tell you when you have a bulb out (located inside the tailight, that has 3 solenoids in it); there was power going into the box, but none coming out, so I cleaned the conections, twice, plugged it back in, and it worked .

    Now all my brake lights work (instead of only the two on the driver's side), but the stupid "lamp out" thing in the dash is still convinced I have a bulb out, but it doesnt erally matter if all the lights are working fine...i guess....

      No..my tailights work..but when i apply the brake the light doesnt intensify

        maybe i'm talking across purposes here...

        my running lights....or tail lights...whatever...ALL worked, but only on the driver's side would they "intensify" when i pressed the brake.

        Check the brake light safety indicator box, inside the tail light, where the wire harness plugs in. It's easy, and might be worth it. It was for me .

            Open your trunk and take off the cover to get to your taillight, there should be like a little brown box like thingy attached to the housing by 2 phillips head screws check the connection to that. ( should be a grey plug, mine had burn marks on it ) I had to replace that and the grey plug for my lights to work again.
            3 CB's gone....
            1 WK Overland....

            Still miss the CB though......maybe one day.

              i had my left side out and replaced that box, yesterday actually.... now it works =)

                Its weird..cuz i had a brake light out forever..and i finnally replaced it..now boom all the sudden they both wont light up....i just cant imagine both of those boxes going bad?

                Is there a fuse im missing?

                Brake switch (located on the brake pedal, sences when the brakes are pushed)???

                  have you tried replacing those boxes yet? just go to the junkyard and put it in yo pocket, thats what i did. then i had to replace a bulb.

                  the box has like 2 screws, its hella easy, take maybe 5 minutes.

                  at least look at the boxes for any signs of corrosion of damage, if you pull it out an flip it over you will see a board

                    would one box stop the other from working? Just seems damn weird everything stops working all the sudden

                      check the brake switch on the pedal. See if your getting power BEFORE that box in the back when the pedel is depressed before you go chasing down new boxes
                      I cant Slam further. The ground refuses to get any lower.

                        are the brake switches the same in cb7's and 4th gen preludes?

                          where do i get new boxes at?

                          I have a 4th gen prelude

                          The left tailight has a black box and the right has a smaller redder box?
