The pain is removing a transmission from a FWD vehicle. It's no fun. Once you get it out, replacing the clutch (clutch plate, pressure plate, throw bearing, resurfacing the flywheel) is a breeze. If you have any questions, just PM me.

      Here's the Honda Service Manual:

I cheated, I had mine done when we rebuilt the motor. I have done others' FWD clutches though....as favors. They owed me big time for that....like "100 wendy's frostees" owed me.

I've done it a couple of times in my mr2 (FF, MR basicly the same) and yeah it's a major pain not to mention a serious cost over OEM spec for no reason if you don't have a heavily modded car.

I wouldn't recommend it, if you don't really need it, go OEM spec.

It is kind of a pain with the engine still in the car...

My only complaints are the tight spaces and then the balancing of the tranny without a tranny jack...

It's fairly easy considering you're only removing the tranny to car mount, like 8 bolts, the shift cable bracket and fluid line and pulling off the tranny from the input shaft... but the actual task is much more complicated and harder than it sounds when it's put that way...the confines of the engine bay coupled with the placement and high tq on the bolts are a perfect recipe for bloody knuckles...

The hardest part IMO is balancing the damn thing during reinstallation... bleh... personally I'd rather just pull the whole motor and tranny and do what needs to be done all at once then just pull the tranny itself...
