Well I just installed the Depo Foglights and tonight I decided to wire them , after wiring them and checkin all the grounds like 5 times , for some reason when i hit the button I pop the fuse it was a 15 amp and replaced it 3 times popped it everytime without any lights coming on not even a second , put in a 20 amp and did the same thing , I checked all the wiring everything seems ok .... Anyone have any siggestions , also the relay clicks even when the fuse is popped , I dont know why or even if thats normal ... let me know PLEASE ...

    Thanks

^^ hmm...you sure you checked the voltage/resistance rating?

and the TYPE of ground you used? make sure there NO METAL TOUCHING ANYWHERE!

double check your ground...the SURFACE of the ground....rescrap..sand down..or whatever...redo your grounds...or relocate them

where did you place your grounds?????????????????????????

Well the ground down bottom by the fogs are right on the frame, then the ground inside the car is right next to the fuse box with another ground that was already there , Ive checked everything , funny thing happen just a minute ago , came to work stuck a new fuse in and they came on looked nice and all for about 3 minutes, but I noticed the light in the switch was not on while the lights were on , So I hit the button to turn em off and on a few times , they went off and on fine then on like the 3rd try they shut off and wont come back on , I can guarentee the fuse is blown again , does this sound like my switch is bad , seems it to me ? I just bought these from Procarparts.com , They are made by Depo , how do I get a replacement switch ??? or open this one and fix it ... ?

seems to me that the reason that fuses keep popping is not because you DONT have a good ground but, it's because the wire that directs power to your lights (from your fuseblock?? I did mine that way so they turn off with key) is touching a ground. May have some tiny slice in the insulation and it's grounding out somewhere.

the wire must have moved a little bit that's why yer lights worked for 3 min after the drive.

Good luck tracing it and then make sure u use the right amperage fuse.

I thought it was supposed to be a 30A fuse

yeah dude when ever you pop fuses either
              1. the fuse is to small to handle the load
              2. some sorta random power surge

but 9 outta 10 times the reason a fuse blows is a short to power which means a power wire is touching metal some how check and double check until you find it sometimes something doesnt short out until its completly hooked up ie wires mabey getting pinched somewhere? good luck man electrical problems are always a headache keep us up dated and mabey i can be more helpfull

See now I thought that also but I bought this set from Depo and they came with a 15 in it , Im curious to see if it pops with a 30 but I dont want to fry anything out Like melt a wire or anything , I hate the fact that most of this setup came with wire loom on it and I Never even thought to check under the loom , looks like im taking this whole thing apart soon if this gremlin continues , damn they looked so good for like 3 minutes argggg

PS also rebuilt the switch its no longer that for sure , popped another 15 soon as I clicked the button .. l8ta

Are the foglights themselves in good working order? Try to test them out by connecting the power/ground wires in the battery. Another suggestion if you can't install them the way you want is to hook them up from the battery (fused of course) to a switch.

stupid question, but do these fogs come with a relay,

the load put on by the fogs is too much for just a fuse and a switch?

Maybe something wasnt hooked up right? I would double check it.

ok oddly enough they sent it with 15amp fuses I took a main fuse from another car that was a 40 amp and it works great no problems to date , for some reason they had em on a small ass fuse there is no burning no flickering nothing , the only problem is the little led inside the switch doesnt work anymore need to repair that one but other than that im fine they work great and they actually do help in the bad weather .... suprised ..

Thanks for all the suggestions ...

yo..NOX...you do know that amp rating is there for a reason right??

say 10 amp..right...and you slide in a 40 amp fuse...you're OVERWRITING the real problem..and may cause problems down the road..HUNT down your problem..dont cover it up!
