    idle screw..

no this isnt asking where the idle screw is or what it does lol...

today i was working on my friends 93 integra LS..
changed some coolant lines/distributor cap/flushed the cooling system.. couple different things.. i noticed his stock paper filter was BROWN.. yes u read right BROWN.. so i yanked it out.. and snagged a used conical filter i had sitting around.. and slapped it to the stock piping.. now.. i was trying to adjust the idle from the get-go.. but the thread or slot is fucked
as in.. i guess someone used the wrong size screwdriver or something and now whenever u try to turn it the screwdriver just slips..

after coming back from the movies i see this IM from him saying that the idle is lower than usually and that its making a wierd sound under acceleration...
im wondering if i should of reset the ecu.. i mean.. i dont really consider this a mod.. but then again it is isnt it????
the stock setup on the LS is damn restrictive..going from that shitbox to a free flowing filter is somewhat of an upgrade no??

    so.. 2 questions..
1.should i reset the ecu and see if that helps???
2.how the fuck can i fix the idle screw/thread

P.S i know this isnt cb7 related.. but you never know when this may happen to your cb7..

mods.. if u want to move this somewhere else go ahead.. i just didnt know where else to put it.. offtopic would of just got this shit whored..

what u can do is get some carb cleaner or throttle body cleaner and spray the idle screw. in the back of the screw there is gunk...then try and turn again or find a thinner flat head.

if that dont work get a drill and make a small hole. then get a ice pic and that rubber thing on the ice pic to protect the tip, shove it in that hole and try and turn.

hehe or ghetto way, get some jb weld or super glue...glue something on it u can turn haha let it harden and then twist and shout.

u can try to reset the ecu...iono...maybe u can take off the throttle body and take out the screw that way... humm

hehe eraser with a flat grippy tip...put it on it and push hella hard while u turn...as long as it grips...or even a small piece of sand paper on the back of something that can grip it and twist..u just wanna grip the screw

kinda ghetto but it isnt common to have your problem.

i wonder if u can score a deeper hole.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

what i was thinking of doing was.. engraving the slot deeper.. with a screw driver.. like diggin away at it making it deeper.. but that jbweld idea is the shit.. lol.. id definetly consider that with a butterfly nut... that shit would own..

I could've swore the idle screw was hex, but I can't see the otherside.
