    Car still wont start

Okay, Kenny and I dropped the fuel tank, changed out the fuel pump, put back on the tank, plugged back in the sending unit, plugged back in the MFR and hooked back up the battery.....but the car still didnt prime. He then jumped the main relay harness and the pump primed but it still wont start.
Now we know that the pump works soooooooo can anyone......ANYONE...tell us what might be wrong with it? I really am thinking of sending it to the junkyard ...TOMORROW....if we cant figure out what the hell is wrong with it!!!!!!

maybe a new MFR or ignition switch?????
    anyone???? anything?????

oh yeah...and he plugged my Main Relay in his accord..and it started right up...so the Main relay was eliminated as a problem!

I dunno baby....its gotta be something with the wiring...something aint right

    I wired it up right..tightend up the pump....( hence...when I jumped the harness..it primed..but no start )

you heard the pump kick for yourself....theres something else wrong...and IM getting a little irritated with your cb7

plugged in your MFR....and nothing...plugged in your MFR in my car...and it starts right up....tried it several times

    so heres the rundown people....she and I changed the pump.....reinstalled everything...NO PRIME...NO START...jump the harness....(PRIMES..continuously..but NO START )

so.....im clueless here...I have hit a brick wall with this...

could SOMEONE...help us out on this!!!!!!

NOTE: also checked the fuses...those are good!....checked ALL OF THEM....and how come there isn't a fuel injection fuse circuit....unless its the #2 ECU fuse on the kick panel ...im stumped

and if this matters.....the fuel pump we bought...was a BOSCH....our friend at Honda..tried to screw us over...he tried to sell us a USED pump...( hence the fuel smell..and the scratches...so Im really pissed...so I ended up getting a BOSCH pump...( derailed me from getting the pump from "Mista Juice" which he has a very nice pump I wanted "venom" )

from what I read..BOSCH is a OEM replacement and a damn good one I suppose.

but PLEASE...anyone...We need help on this one!

NOTE: BOSCH...Pioneer in Fuel Injection Technology...didn't know that until this mornning....when I was doing what I normally do ( search button )

o...well the same thing happend to me then....Mieneke shop told me that the fuel pump was my prob also...But hellno it wasn't...they wanted almost 600 bucks to do that shit for me...said: fock that, i'll do it myself..damn fuel pump was about 160 bucks (fuel strainer was extra $) and still wasn't the solution.

A Whole new main relay was my answer. Only about 60 to 70 bucks at dealer.
But since you already changed the Main Relay....how about fuel filter???...im thinkin' u guys already gone there. So you guys done an Diagnostic test yet?

ok, i had the same problem. and i went through the whole fuel system shit and STILL had that problem, jsut wasted money on a pump i didnt need.

then io replaced the igniter, and it got fuel sent again. no more stalling, all my problems went away. and its been running great ever since.

just a suggestion. most places offer it around 70 bucks

i got mine at pep boys for 60 ish

            good luck man

yea ...DON'T sell it...and then get a loan JUST to get another one...that's just throwing money away big time. Fixing this problem would be alot cheaper than going that road.

Try fixing your ignitor like blk93 said.

Dude..This sounds 100% like what is going on with my sons. Maybe some of you have read about it. Car just cranks and cranks but wont start. So I buy a new battery. Starts but then next day it's back to nothing. Two days of nothing so we bring it to mechanic and they changed the fuel pump. Too embarrassed to tell you how much that was. Started for a day and then...nothing. changed the main relay....still nothing. Changed the distributor....still that crank but no turn over. the dizzy is a used one so I think I'll get a new one.
Now I'm going to follow this thread a see how she gets hers going and take notes.

hmm...aight...u guys tried the ignition coil yet? it's inside the distributor. So is the ignitor...check with a manual book...it'll help alot.

how about checking if fuel is reaching the fuel rail?...there's a spot where u can unscrew on the far right side of the fuel rail... and it's also on the right side of the fuel pressure regulator. Might wanna check the Fuel Pressure Regulator too maybe.

yeah man...dont give up that easily. i know this shit gets frustrating sometimes.

but seriously, trust me on this igniter thing. it took me 5 minutes to change, barely 60 bucks to spend, and its saved me a lot of headaches.

I really ,really don't want to jack someone else's thread, but it sounds like we have the identical problems. Unfortunately i don't know too much about cars ( that's why I'm here) When talking about the "right" side , is that as you're standing in front of the car? Or from the windshield out view? I have a used distributor and we tried a few. I'm thinking a new one is cheaper in the long run than the components. Someone needs to post a engine picture for stupid me as to where the Fuel Pressure Regulator is. Last thought...could the ECU have anything to do with hers or mine not turning over?

Ignitors go out all the time on our old cars. Pop out a plug and see if there is spark.

I would go to a junkyard and grab a few ignitors. I have one out of a civic in my cb7 right now so most 88-00 honda ignitors work.
