    Hot In The Car!!!!

    Ok everyone,

My car is always blowing warm/hot air through the air vents, even if the temp knob is set to cool.

    questions:

    1) What could be causing this?
    2) Does the AC system play any part in maintaining a cool ventilation system?
    3) Anyone else have this issue?
    4) How do I fix this?

Thanks in advance for your input

possibly the hot/cold coolant valve is messed up, its connected via cable to the knob... does the knob feel loose?

My car was doing the same thing last week, so I opened up the dash bezel, and the black cable rod was loose. So I tightened up the screw that is holding it, and then after that It worked just fine. I am 90% sure you have the same problem as I did.

I just unhooked the spring that was holding open the hot water valve to the heater rad....its seems a little better.

Yea, I say that too. My car blows warm air no matter what. The A/C clicks on so I know its freon that I need. Just ride down to Walmart and pop a quick can of it in...

              I have the same problem.

The knob on mine does seem loose, but I have nothing to compare it to (never compared with another cb).

I need to do that. Where exactly is it located?

Slide the knob all the way to the blue which is cooler. It should not be so warm because that is heat from the engine.

i thought it would always blow hot air if you have no ac.

Nope, it should not blow warm air if the knob is set to cold.

Take off the dash/center console surrounding and remove the heater control unit. Look behind it to see if the cable attached to the heater core is connected properly to the unit. It should be connected to a white sliding piece.

I just found out that mine was not connected.

another trick is to push the button that recirculates the air instead of have the free flow air button on. that shuts off the valve from outside. this helped or actually eliminated all the hot are coming in through my vents.
