Ok so I took it to the shop today. Try to follow along with what they told me.

The cap and wires are after market and the wires arced. I did not put them on there, they were already there, and I was unaware they were after market. The previous owner had most of their work done at a Honda dealership. So either the dealership put on after market parts or sometime else after market parts were put on. Anyways, the wires arced and two spark plug tubes filled with oil and that's why everything was fucking up. Now, to fix it, they are going to have to remove the valve cover, remove the rocker arms, remove the spark plugs, drain the oil, replace the O-rings, put the rocker arms back in, adjust all the valves, put the valve cover back on, replace the cap and wires. All that bullshit and work for $500.

Yes, I could probably get a couple Dallas people to come over and we could do it one Saturday, but, 1) it's really fucking hot outside. 2) pulling apart all that stuff is a pain in the ass like no other and we might not get it all lined up right and then have to take it apart again. 3) it's just easier to let the shop do it since they can do it in a day or two and I am gonna get a guarantee on the work.

So that's it. $500 later one mystery down. Now to find out where the after market stuff came from.

for sure the aftermarket wires did not come from the dealer ship. we as honda techs do not like aftermarket wires nor bosch platinum plugs. I saw a few honda drag cars at fontana speedway one day at nopi nationals and they were using ngk wires. so the only wires that I would put on there are either the factory ones or the ngk wires. let us when your car is done.

It was done the next day.

Car runs fine now and I even killed a 2nd gen eclipse (non-turbo) street racing from a stop light and giving him a car length headstart.

Pretty sure everything that went back on was factory, I didn't look at the plugs to see what they are, think I should? I think the wires were "blah blah blah Made In Japan"..

But the shop gets their parts from Honda so pretty sure it's all the stock shit. but it works and I don't really need performance wires or plugs on stock motor.

Although I am thinking about picking up a K&N air filter (stock replacement type). Should help with the air flow a bit and give the car some better grunt over stock and maybe pick up a couple horsepower if I'm lucky.
