    ECU reset

i read some where that whenever you do a mod you should reset your ECU by unpluging your battery for a few minutes then plug it back up, then start your car and let it warm up without giving it any fuel untill it reaches full operating temp. so that it can adjust to the mods and reset its memory. I also hear you should do this as the seasons change (ie winter, summer etc.) some one also said you shoud hold down the brakes for 10 sec. while the baterry is unplugged to make sure the memory is erased. I just resntly installed an AEM SRI and axle-back exhaust on my CB and i did this ECU reset. i notice a difference but is it because of the reset? does any one else do this?

i guess if this is true then i will reset it on a cold night so the ECU gives the engine more fuel because of the denser air oh and they say after its reset you should run it hard a few times so it maps off of the hard runs

I hardly doubt you will see a difrence when doing it at night, but yes reseting the ECU is the correct thing to do, it gives the car more fuel because of the change in the intake. And the brake thing is a new one for me,never heard of that

...and then flash your turn signal twice to the left and 3 times to the right. Turn on your rear window defroster and sound the horn 4 times. Roll down the passenger side rear window down half way and light a spliff from your car lighter. (If your CB7 is a coupe and rear windows don't roll down, substitute that step with adjusting you rear view mirror to point directly at you!)

But on a serious note, I think pulling out a fuse labeled 'ECU' from the fusebox under the hood for a few minutes should do the trick.
