Intermediate shaft bolting to block... HELP!

Ok so i did a driverside CV Shaft today, after blowing it apart yesterday, and realized my intermediate shaft was loose where it bolts to the block. Now i had already stripped the lower bolt, so i retightened the 2 remaining bolts softly to make sure i didn't strip them too. well apparently it wasn't gently enough because they both pulled out and the intermediate shaft was hanging, and pulled out of the differential enough so that the car won't move.

so now i have 3 stripped holes in the block.

so i'm looking for some advice before i go to tackle this in the blockbuster parking lot tomorrow. I don't think i can get a drill bit in there, so i'm thinking helicoil is out.
My plan was to get find some bigger bolts, and retap the holes to be a little bigger. But i'm playing by ear at this point, so i'm not sure what size bolts i plan on using or anything.

So if anyone has any advice, input etc, i'd like to hear it, so let me know guys. Thanks!

i was not wanting to tow it home...

so i took the minivan today, loaded it up with all the tools, and jackstands and a jack, went and put er up in the air and tapped the holes with a 12x1.75 tap, then drilled the intermediate shaft out to accommodate the larger 12mm bolts, put it all back together with some lock washers and everything seems fine.

note this is only for manual transmissions. automatics have 1 long, 1 short CV shaft, whereas manuals have 2 relatively-equally lengthed CVs with an intermediate shaft and carrier bearing that bolts to the block.
